I WON! I WON!

{Incredible piece of original art by artist-extraordinaire, Teresa Sheeley}

A little while back, I entered a blog giveaway....

I don't usually enter many --

for one thing, I'm usually pretty sure I won't win (I know, Negative-Nelly)
so I just like to step aside and let others enter and see who wins.

Well... one day recently I was reading one of my favorite blogs --

and when I saw that she was having a giveaway

I entered!

Low and behold...

I WON!

WOO-HOO!

This is one amazing giveaway item...

Handpainted by Teresa and
then
GIVEN AWAY!

She is truly something.

Have you SEEN HER ETSY SHOP?????

Get your wallets out, girls!!

Not that you'll need much from your wallet,
since her prices are SOOO great!

Especially considering what you get!

Look at these things from her Etsy shop!!

Beautiful pillows!
Notice the old
fans on one of the pillows??

Notice the old fan in one of my pictures showing my prize??

Teresa has commented before that we are like twins separated at birth -- I think she may be right...
Hey! I'd be cool with that! ;)

Teresa is kind of a big deal in the world of flour sack towels (in case ya didn't know...) and I have been so proud to carry her towels in my store! Her Etsy shop has WAY more patterns/designs than I carry, so check it out!

Now, back to the artwork that I won...

{This picture was taken in the middle of my kitchen -- sneek peek at the new cabinet color if you click on the pictuure!}
Just look at this fabulous retro-style clock!
It is SO perfect for my house and I cannot wait to frame it and hang it proudly in my home!

Notice the time shown on the clock?
Its' almost midnight. Or noon, I guess.
I'm going with midnight.

The clock is about to strike twelve!

Tick tock. Tick tock.

So... what am I waiting for?
I have pictures to take of my newly repainted cabinets!

UGH...

I am SOOO sorry for this delay.

The best laid plans of mice & men...

Ever do a "quickie re-do" only to find that old rule of "quickie re-do's" coming into play?

You know -- the rule that says "Ha! You only THINK you're going to "just paint" or "just rearrange the furniture...."

Sure...

It's the rule that says:

"One change leads to another --
and painting one thing means this, that other thing
somehow now don't really work there anymore
(color, style, etc...).

If you ONLY KNEW how many
changes of mind I've made in the last week about
a gazillion things!

My daughter ACTUALLY SCOLDED me one point!
(geesh! give the kid life and she scolds me!)

As I was ONCE AGAIN
flip-flopping back and forth on
"should I paint the armoire or
JUST DONATE IT TO GOODWILL??

Paint?

Donate?

Paint?

Donate?

Get the paint out.

Put it back...

Looking all exasperated, my girl just says to me.....

"JUST STOP IT!"

So...
For the record, we donated the behemoth last Saturday and it was a bittersweet decision.

It was part of Olivia's nursery suite and one of the last pieces to go now...

When we bought this house, I didn't know where to put it and as movers can be,
they were standing there all impatient-looking wanting to know

"Hey lady, where do you's want us to put this here cabinet?"

So, on the spur of the moment,
I decided the armoire would be great serving a new purpose in the kitchen,
where I ultimately kept my tablecloths, napkins, phone books, appliance manuals,
light bulbs, batteries, etc. in the drawers.

Above, in the open area, with doors kept open always,
I displayed teapots, cookbooks, and other various "pretties".

SO NOW THAT IT IS GONE ...

The big question is ....

WHERE, OH WHERE do I now put all THAT STUFF???????

UGH...

See...

One thing leads to another.

Well, I am not going to let that get in the way of showing you the

"before" and "after" shots of the cabinets.

One of my sisters is coming to stay with me for a day or so
you'll forgive me if I am otherwise
"out of pocket" for the next day.

:)

To sweet Teresa...

THANK YOU for my giveaway gift!!

It is going to be with me forever and I
just feel so blessed to have won it!

Take care, ya'll!

~Ruth~

Your new picture is wonderful - congrats! Teresa's items are all so lovely...I just adore the ruffle pillow slip she has and might just have to buy one!

We'll be patient on the kitchen reveal, because we all know how projects go...they ALWAYS take longer than you think :)

Well, if I couldn't win Teresa's cool clock art, I'm so happy YOU won! Our daughter scolded me the other day, too (I was trying to email someone and couldn't find the right words...she told me what to say and then said "JUST TYPE THAT and be DONE!") I told her she was grounded (grin) but I like the part about "I gave you life!" Happy puttering in the kitchen and may the time with your sister be a blessing to you both!

Okay -- to address Mr. Anonymous (aka Corporate, aka the hubs) -- OKAY, OKAY! ;)

Took some today before my sis arrived. Will take a couple more then do the blog post.

And yes, your newly painted window sashes look tres' bien! Thank you for your help!

One more thing, Mr. Anonymous---

We'd better explain the 18 taco thing ---

My hubby is referring to the taco-eating challenge he took last Friday and ended up breaking the record by eating 18 tacos in 1/2 hour.....

ICK....

So, yes -- I'd rather paint 18 windows than eat 18 tacos. Any day!
