This is my Olivia. Isn't she beautiful? She is out on her Spring Break holiday this week and she SHOULD be shopping by day at Anthropologie and relaxing at Starbucks by night. But instead, she has been bed-ridden since last weekend....
:(
I've been honored to be able to be here at home for her, and as much as I'm thrilled to be by her side 24/7, I think she is MORE THAN READY to slip the bonds of her bed-chamber and EXPLORE the world OUTSIDE again.
There have been no outtings with friends (unless a visit to the doc. with me counts -- not...), no trips to the mall, no movies. Just utter, horrible sickness for almost 7 days now.
Fever (104), chills, sweats, nausea (awful), and pain throughout her body as though she's been beat up or "slept on a hard floor", as she put it. It hurts to move even her eyes.
How does this happen???
Next year, we'll be in line with everyone else getting flu shots for the first time ever.

Olivia, when you are back on your feet, it's YOU & ME, BABY! We're hittin' Starbucks and Anthro and who knows where else, girl! :)
Anyone have any good tips for knocking the flu on it's tookis (pardon me)?
Thanks for listening...I'm hurting for my sweet Olivia and just wanted to share...
~RUTH~
P.S. To add insult to injury, as they say...she has a tough, NO FUN argumentative essay assigned to her over Spring Break and its due Tuesday. She's been too sick to lift her head, much less a pencil!
Anyone out there like to write? (HEE HEE!)

Oh that makes me so sad to hear that. The flu hit hard here as well and unfortunately it doesn't leave very easily. We were all down for quite some time.
Thanks for using the work tookis, as that is what we call your 5 year old son...yes he has a good rump roast :)
Tell your daughter to feel better! It will come.

Ouch. Sorry to hear she is so ill. I am just now getting over the flu that I got in mid february. The first week was awful but then the fever ended. I was left with fluid build up in my ears that really caused significant hearing loss but that was cleared up after another 2 weeks finally. She's doing the right thing with bedrest. I would just add take control of the sinuses too so it doesn't get too out of control later. I will never again go without a flu shot! Good luck.
I wish your daughter well-
and your photographs you took of her (the first two especially) are fantastic-
Really!
Your Olivia is stunning! I hope she starts feeling better soon. As for the flu...like they say...lots of rest and liquids.
Oh that's so terrible! Take comfort in the fact that she is home with you so you can mother her vs. being away at school without you!
I hope she's 100% soon!
She is Beautiful Ruth! Thank Heavens she is home with mom to nurse her back to health. Not a fun way to spend her Spring Break, I hope she is feeling a bit better. jamie
Absolutely Beautiful...Wishing you well Olivia!

Coat the soles of your feet with Vicks or similar salve and wear socks to sleep. Worked for me!
Get well soon!
